Classic Hermès Haut à Courroies Birkin in classic Rouge H red Fjord leather and accented with brass hardware. The HAC was created by Emile-Maurice Hermès in 1892, modeling it after leather totes carried by Argentinian cowboys. Fjord leather is a textured, velvet-soft, matte leather with a highly-visible grain made from adult bull leather that is naturally scratch-resistant (even more so than Togo or Clemence) and is even water-resistant Includes lock, two keys, clochette and rain jacket.
About the Birkin: When Hermes’ own Jean-Louis Dumas sat down next to Jane Birkin on a flight he had no idea he was about to create history. When Jane Birkin discussed her need for a sizeable (yet chic) weekender, Dumas immediately got to work designing the perfect bag for her needs, and in 1984 we were introduced to the Birkin, which would quickly become the most coveted bag in history thanks (in part) to the 48 hours it takes to hand-assemble this exquisite piece as well as the extensive wait list you’ll need to join to purchase one from stores.
